Google’s latest version of Android OS is Android 4.4 Kit Kat
Recently few minutes ago, with a new photo, Google’s SVP Sundar Pichai has confirmed that the upcoming version of Android Operating System will be named as Kit Kat and it will be coming with a version number as Android 4.4. The above image was posted by Sundar Pichai on Google+ and Twitter.
Details are slim. but we expect that with the launch of Android KitKat Google will create a better Android experience for everyone. On it’s new website for Android Kit Kat Google teases it’s upcoming release with following lines:
“It’s our goal with Android KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody.”
For a recap the first Android which was released was Android 1.5 Cupcake, and after that Donut (1.6), Eclair (2.0), Froyo (2.2), Gingerbread (2.3), Honeycomb (3.0), Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0), and Jelly Bean (4.1-4.3). If you will have a look on the different version name, then you will find that it starts from the letter “C” and is currently ending to “J” which is Jelly Bean. So, now it’s time for “K” that is Kit Kat. It seems like Google will make Android Kit Kat available to every body by making it compatible with smartwatches, gaming consoles, low-cost smartphones, and even laptops.
On the other hand, Sundar Pichai also announced that now there are over one billion Android device activation. Back in May 2013 company announced 900 million mark. He also added that, “can’t wait to release the next version of the platform that is as sweet as the candy bar that’s one of our team’s favorites.” There is no more details yet, but we expect that it will be revealed very soon.
