Micromax has launched so many of Android handsets that counting and including every name became difficult, and increasing this problem Micromax has launched the brand new A27 or fully is named as Micromax Bolt A27. This Indian handset manufacturer has made the Android revolution in India and made available decent phones at lower costs. And here is another Micromax Bolt available at Rs. 3499 only. Most of peoples think low cost phone will give poor performance, but his case does not applies here at least. This the decent device with 1GHz Processor and got Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS.

Build And Quality

A27 has been build and designed very nicely. It has got good design and made in such a way that it seems to be in Ninja series. The whole body is made up of plastic and the back panel has dots pattern printed on whole to ensure the grip of user.

Micromax A27 Ninja Review The design is good and the silver strip is noticeable when seeing from side which makes the device more premium. The front panel contains the 3.5-inch capacitive screen and the capacitive touch keys which have default Android functionality and are- Tabs, Home, return and search. There is no front camera allowed in A27.
On left you will find the Volume Rocker and on top there are Audio jacks and microUSB ports. Back panel is very nice in A27 which presents velvet touch along with dot patterned projection which keeps the grip of user; back panel consists of a VGA camera and Speaker grill located side by side and brand name printed at lower side.


Ninja A27 contains TFT LCD screen of 3.5 Inches with the HVGA resolution of 320 x 480 Pixels. The display is capacitive and the touch is sensitive. The color combination and Density has been maintained to 65k and the brightness is also good with right amount of saturation, etc.
In sunlight you may feel problem as it is HVGA display, and you need to set your handset at higher brightness to see the stuffs inside the display.


Camera is average as it is VGA so you cannot expect more with it. But you will allowed all the Android 2.3 default camera options and features. Micromax has got the Multi-shot Mode, Zoom – 8x and White Balance Mode to enhance the camera.
The still shots with this camera is average and obviously the Video Recording will also be at VGA mode at 10 fps and with 640 x 480 resolution. In Low light condition the camera is very bad due to absence of LED Flash in it.

Talking about the hardware of A27 it has the 1GHz Single core processor and 256MB RAM is which is enough to carry on the usual task and gives the video support up to 480p. You have 512MB ROM inbuilt in it and the 160MB user memory. Your memory requirement can be fulfilled by the expansion slot of microSD maximum up to 16GB.


Low ROM and No 3G

Performance of A27 is good as keeping the price in mind. You can do all the casual works and run almost usual apps which is of utilities or players or games. Since the games performance is alright if you paly casual games like angry birds or other similar.
But with the lower ROM availability it cannot have large number apps installed. Browsing through the internet was average due to absence of 3G and lil bit lags while zooming in pages.


A27 has the 1400 mAh battery which gives the 4Hours of talk time and 260 hours of Standby time. While the battery backup time will decrease on watching videos or playing games.

The connectivity option available in this Bolt is not so many but reasonable at such lower price. You have the Dual SI configuration with 2G networks on both SIMs. GPRS support is available on both SIMs while you got the Wi-Fi support with the USB Connectivity of micro USB, v2.
A27 bring you lot more option like Tethering support of USB, Wi-Fi Hotspot along with the Bluetooth v2.1 with Supported Profiles of HSP.

OS and UI

A27 got the Android 2.3 Gingerbread installed by the company. You will get the decent perfromce and fast operation on whole UI, while there will not be any official ROM upgrade to advance or new versions.
Micromax has added some of the custom live wallpapers and gave you some of the company apps which requires data usage. The dialer and keyboard is of average quality, since you can replace them after wards with other custom keyboards or dialers.


The Multimedia support of Bolt is not very large but is enough to play common formats. A27 support for 480p videos while 720p lags in any player you install. The video support is limited to 3GP, MP4 while audio support is up to MIDI, MP3 only. Installing other player from store will increase the media support.


Micromax A27 Ninja is quite decent phone which is available at 3.5k. The handset is alright or best suited for the price. Since the performance decreases on lower price, but it A27 contains more features and presents good performance according to which it is priced.
