Design And Build
Sony Xperia Tipo has some inheritance from its previous Xperia and the difference in the design can be seen at the first look. Since we are surrounded now with Slim and Simmer Smartphones but the Tipo has been an exception in them. Sony has overtook the design of Tipo to new way and gave the extension to its lower end with the Xperia stamped which can be easily seen in its front look.

It has a 3.2-inch screen that is a bit disguising and thus is small in size as compared to the Smartphones available at this price. The Chassis has been made upon the 3.2-inch screen with the 13mm of the thickness which is a drawback but the weight of tipo has been drawn at just 99 grams.
The smartphone has a full plastic body and its back has a soft, matte coating that feels slightly rubberized allowing for a good grip. But the Build of the device can be considered very well because of the damn thickness.
At the front look you can easily find out the couple of the sensors and the with no front camera at the top of the display as well as the down side of the device there exists the tree default key of menu, home and tabs. Left and right side of the device there are the microSD slot, a volume rocker and the power key located respectively; and the back panel consist of rear camera at the top and the Sony’s symbol near the speaker at the down side.
Display
Sony Tipo had allowed a TFT HVGA display which measures 3.2 Inches with the resolution of 320 x 480 Pixels and with color intensity of 262 K. As already mentioned the smartphone comes with a 3.2-inch display, which is made up of a mineral glass that helps protect the screen from scratches.
The resolution and the viewing angles may not seem great, but when you look at the competition such as Samsung Galaxy Y and Y Duos it is quite good. Under sun visibility on the Xperia tipo was decent. The screen used in this smartphone is reflective. There was a loss in accuracy while typing on the keyboard, which was due to the cramped stock keyboard and a smaller display.
Camera
3.2-megapixel shooter developed by Sony is quite impressive but still it can be made smarter, as it disgraces he still images when fully zoomed. The picture quality of the images taken in daylight from this smartphone is decent. However, there is no flash in this smartphone so one should not even expect to click picture when the light is low.
There is no auto-focus in the camera, so there is no question of extended features as face locking and other all. Since the device lacks a dedicated camera button, the camera app is accessible through the lock screen swiping left on the lock screen.
The camera of tipo offers various modes such as Night scene, Beach and Snow and Sports to click pictures. Basic camera settings are present such as Self-timer, White Balance settings, Metering to aid photography. The clicked pictures can also be Geotagged which is thus available in all the Android phones of same range.
The quality of videos taken through this smartphone is average. It records the video at 30 fps with the resolution of 640 x 480. There is no further special features related to Video Recording.
Hardware Components
RAM
The RAM is quite enough to handle all the needed apps from basic to higher ones and you have also the possibility to have the 6-7 apps running together with utmost no problem if you not including the HD games such as NFS Most Wanted, etc.
Processor
The processor which is given on-board is not very well, as it is an 800 MHz Scorpion Processor. Since it is 800MHZ processor you will suffer problem while having 50 to 60 apps, or lag while playing some of the high graphics games.

Gaming And Multimedia Performance
The gaming performance on Tipo dual was really good, as it nearly supports all the HD-games with no problems but some exception in case of really higher graphics game. But the gaming performance is really noticeable with this mid-ranged device.
Since, the multimedia performance was also fine, but we got the problem while having the 720p and 1080p videos running through the stock Android player, but we have seen the improvement in MX and VLC player, as we got no problem in playing 720p video.
The speaker sound quality is really good while the video and audio play. You can play widely known formats such as MP3, MP4, AAC,WAV, OTA, OGG and AMR audio formats. The audio quality is good both on the headphones and the loudspeaker.
Software/ Interface
The biggest advantage that the Xperia tipo has is that it runs on Android 4.0. Sony has also added a layer of its TimeScape UI on the smartphone. There are five customizable home screens to fill with apps and widgets. The UI feels quite smooth and since it ICS it has many customizable features as well.
Since it is Tipo Dual then you got the different option of choosing SIM network for calls as well as for data and other services. You can also see the two SIM shortcuts and notification in the notification area. The browsing experience using the stock browser is fast and smooth.
Over-all the UI and OS performance was good and well than other devices of same range as it clearly contains ICS, which better than pervious OS like Android 2.3 of Galaxy Y.
Battery
Sony Xperia tipo comes with a 1500 mAh battery, which is better than the HTC Explorer (1230 mAH), Samsung Galaxy Y (1200 mAh) and LG Optimus ME (1280 mAH). The battery easily last a full day on a single charge.
It can afford the HD-video streaming upto 4Hours and gives you the Talk Time upto 5 hrs. (2G) and 6 hrs. in (3G) mode. And it also offers brilliant Standby Time of 350 hrs. (2G), 360 hrs. In (3G).
Wrap-Up
Since, today we have talked much about the Tipo Dual, and now we came here for the above discussion conclusion; so if you do not consider the small 3.2-inches screen then it is the best around product for the cost. The over-all performance and the quality made by Sony is good and impressive.
With some of drawbacks it is best product and it worth its cost. If you are not a Hardcore gamer or don’t worry about the screen size then it is for you.
