What’s new in Huawei Ascend G510: Specification Review
Huawei here does not seems to adopt a new way for their Smartphones to be popular, and it can be seen by its new Huawei Ascend G510 which is over-all a decent handset cost about 11k, and lacks prominent features like 1Gb RAM here you get 512MB RAM, A Quad-Core but you get the Dual Core in G510. Don’t think that is worst device for 11k, instead I will consider it price worthy and packing with Android V4.1 Jelly Bean makes it a bit user friendly. So, with these words let’s go for an in-depth discussion of the handset.

Build And Design
Build of the device is nice and the design got by G510 is the generic one. Here you have the simple but classy design with the three default Android capacitive buttons located below the display. While above you get the front camera and sensors which looks just like the camera, and most of people misunderstands finding out the sensors to be front camera.
Further the dimension of the device is with the 4.5-inch screen is considerably fine and can be easily fitted in ordinary trouser pockets. Total body of G510 is made up of plastic which is adorn the G510.
G510 offers TFT LCD of 4.5 Inches, getting the FWVGA Resolution of 480 x 854 Pixels giving you 16 M Color. As there is not any of the protective layering like Gorilla Glass or others so you need to have a scratch guard to resist scratches over the display.
Ambient Light sensors allows great automatic brightness adjustment option which helps a lot if are outdoors. Display of G510 gives you 209.56 PPI Pixel Density and 0.1212mm dot pitch, if can’t figure out these technical words so I meant that G510 allows great display with fine brightness and contrast.
G510 gets the brief to us with its 5MP rear snapper with LED flash. If you look among the range of 11k Smartphone you can easily get 8MP camera has been implemented to most of the handsets, and G510 is much beyond them. Since the rear camera have the mediocre performance with the Auto Focus and LED flash for low light conditions, it also captures videos at a 854 x 480 Resolution.
Front side of the device holds VGA cam which delivers average video calls and fine still shots.
Hardware of G510 is reliable which includes a Dual Core SoC clocked at 1.2 GHz. This Qualcomm ARM Cortex-A5 reveals brilliant execution. And apps gets the video memory from 512MB of RAM, which is less for 4.5-inch display to render the HD games. Total ROM you got is about 4GB in which you are allowed to use 1GB for personal data while rest is consumed by OS or protected for apps.
Whole device gets the power from 1700mAh battery giving you Talk Time of 5 Hours and Standby Time of 320-340 hours.
This time also you get the Single SIM Support operating in GSM – 850, 900, 1800, 1900; UMTS – 2100 Frequencies. The 3G available on handset obtains maximum speed up to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA; 5.76 Mbps HSUPA. While 2G gets the GPRS and EDGE modes giving you speed around 236.8Kbps.
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB Connectivity of micro USB, v2, Tethering by USB, Navigation Technology included of A-GPS with Google Maps and Bluetooth v2.1 with Supported Profiles of A2DP, EDR are few extra measures available on the handset.
OS and Multimedia
G510 runs on Android V4.1 Jelly Bean out of box. The device has the Emotion UI brought to you by the company. Handsets getting the more customization and an awesome look with this UI. Additional or pre-loaded apps and features allowed includes Calculator, Clock, Calendar, Voice Mail, Wi-Fi Manager, Huawei IME, Google, Google Talk, Google News and Weather, YouTube, Play Store, Widget, Google Search by Voice and Gmail.
H.264, H.263, OGG, 3GP, MPEG-4 are few of the Video formats supported by G510 stock player while audio support is limited to MP3, eAAC+, MIDI, WAV. For extra supportive formats you need to get the player installed on your handset.
720p video works out on the handset while 1080p ran into problem while playing it.
Huawei Ascend G510 is a decent phone allowed tagged to 11k. Since the low RAM and low camera are the downside of it while display and Software makes it worth buying.
For instance I will suggest you to have look on other handsets available under 11k like XOLO Q800, XOLO A500, XOLO A700, Karbonn Titanium S5 and many more.
