Router is the most important device for everyone who love to use Internet on the daily basis. As it not only offers great speed, but also helps us wirelessly connect any gadgets which we want - smartphones, TVs, game consoles, Laptops, computer and everything else. But sometimes it is hard to set them up. It even becomes difficult to manage the connection.

Thankfully, TP-Link’s routers are not that hard. We reviewed many TP-Link routers in the past and we were able to set it up in just a couple of minutes, without any problem. Just like the one we are reviewing today - TL-WR841HP.

Before starting this review I would like to say something. TP-Link, if any of your team member is reading this review then please help us better remember your routers by giving it a good name. I mean it is really very difficult to remember a name which is TL-WR841HP. And keep manufacturing such amazing products.

Now coming to the review, let’s begin with what’s inside the box pack of TP-Link TL-WR841HP Wi-Fi router:

Inside the box pack of  TP-LINK TL-WR841HP, you will find the router itself, 2 detachable antennas, a power adapter, Installation CD, Quick Installation Guide, RJ 45 Cable and a License Notice.

Design


Unlike any other routers in the market, TP-LINK TL-WR841HP is a beautifully crafted router. I mean it looks cool and advance. That might be because of its perfect size, that shiny black color and Green indicator lights.

On the back of the router you will find 4 LAN ports, 1 WAN port, a power input socket and a reset button, in case something goes wrong. One of the most interesting thing which we noticed in this router is that reset button. As unlike other routers, which usually include an invisible hole and asks us to use a “pin” to press it, the  TP-LINK TL-WR841HP on the other hand has a physical button.

The two antennas are longer than the router and when attached they look tall (like a tower).

Installation and Everything Else


As I told, the TP-LINK TL-WR841HP router is easy to set up. There is an installation CD which you can use to install the router. But if you don’t have a CD supporting device, then you can try the second method, which is also very easy.

As explained in the “Appendix 1” of the Quick Installation guide. Connect the cable from your model to the router and then one cable from your router to your computer. You can even directly use Wi-Fi, if you don’t want to use the ethernet port of your computer.

Enable the Wi-Fi on your computer, smartphone or tablet and you will notice a new Wi-Fi named something like “TP-LINK TL-WR841HP.” Just click on that and it will ask you to enter the password in order to connect. The default Wi-Fi password is on the back of the router, just below to the serial number. Use that and you will be successfully connected.

Now open the web browser and type http://tplinklogin.net and follow the on-screen options for “Quick Setup.” Read carefully all the details which you see and within 2 or 3 minutes you will be able to access the Internet without any problem.

It has several useful features like Parental control, Local Management Control and many more. The high power amplifier and two detachable antennas offer great Wi-Fi coverage area and enhanced Wi-Fi signal. It will give you up to 300 Mbps wireless speed, which is amazing. It worked perfectly up to 30 meters, which is good, seeing the price tag of this router.

The TP-LINK TL-WR841HP High Power Wi-Fi Router is currently available on Amazon India website for Rs. 2,480.

In simple words, if you are searching for a powerful Wi-Fi router with good coverage area, then TP-LINK TL-WR841HP is something we would recommend. As it says, the router not only offers great Internet speed, but is also very easy to setup.
